The Middle Tennessee Sinfonietta invites composers and musicians from the Middle Tennessee area to submit an original composition to be considered for the Middle Tennessee Sinfonietta’s 2024 Composition Competition.
We will be accepting applicants from the following categories:
- Young Composers (13-17 years old)
- Collegiate Composers (18-22 years old)
- Advanced Composers (23 years old and above)

In order to be eligible for submission, compositions must be submitted per the specific details outlined in the Information and Requirements. Compositions that do not abide by the guidelines, rules and regulations will not be eligible for evaluation. Each submission will be evaluated anonymously by the MTS Staff. The top submissions in each category will then be voted on by a panel consisting of members of the orchestra and a professional composer. The winning composition(s) from each category will be announced by January 31, 2024. Each winning composition from their respected category will receive a featured performance of the piece at either an MTS season concert or Chamber Series concert in late Spring 2024, as well as a recording of the performance for personal usage. The winners will also receive a small stipend, along with written evaluations of their compositions from members of the MTS Staff.
